Consultation has concluded
Works on the Mentone Reserve Pavilion were completed in October 2020. The enhanced pavilion includes top-quality facilities for both male and female athletes whilst retaining and conserving the historic grandstand.
We've developed a concept design for a new state-of-the art pavilion at Mentone Reserve.
Council has been working closely with local sporting clubs, the St Bedes/Mentone Tigers Amateur Football Club, Mentone Cricket Club, Mentone Clovers Netball Club and Mentone Mustangs Basketball Club to develop plans for the new facilities and restoration of the ageing GH Soppett Pavilion at Mentone Reserve.
The new facilities are proposed to include:
increased space and number of change rooms to support female participation
additional public toilets
increased social room space
larger undercover spectator area and first-floor viewing deck
increased lobby and foyer areas
office and meeting areas.
The anticipated cost for the works is $6.8m, which will be funded through contributions from Council, the clubs and a grant of $1.5m from the Victorian Government.
