What is arts and culture?

    For the purpose of this project, arts and culture refers to the performing arts (theatre, music, movement), visual arts/craft and design, film, projection and video art, literary arts and cultural tourism activities such as (but not limited to) festivals and events, public art and heritage trails.  Arts and cultural product may be a result of community or professional work. 

    What is an arts and culture strategy?

    The Arts and Culture Strategy is a strategic plan for the City of Kingston to support, deliver and enhance arts and culture in Kingston over the period 2018-2022 and beyond.


    How will my input influence Kingston’s arts and culture strategy?

    The community input will be collated and presented to Council’s Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee in June. The community input will be incorporated within the draft Strategy, which is likely to be presented to Council in August. This document will then made available for public comment before final endorsement by Council.
