What is the purpose of this consultation?

    We are consulting on the Renewable Liquor Licence proposed hours for the Aspendale Stingrays Soccer Club at the Aspendale Gardens Sports Ground. For the development of a Venue Management Plan which will be developed to establish fair, consistent, and transparent guidelines for the venue use. We are seeking your feedback to help inform the development of the Venue Management Plan.

    How will the club ensure responsible alcohol service?

    The club will follow all sporting code requirements related to junior sport and comply with legislative regulations regarding alcohol service. These requirements will be included in the Venue Management Plan.

    What does the Limited Liquor Licence allow the club to do?

    • Hold a Renewable Limited Liquor Licence to serve alcohol to club members and guests for senior Men’s and Women’s matches only (no service during junior sport activities) during the following times:
      • Friday: 6pm – 9:30pm
      • Saturday: 12pm – 9.30pm
      • Sunday: 12pm – 8pm
    • Club hosted events and functions throughout the season

    How many events will there be?

    The club will only utilise the Renewable Limited Liquor Licence during senior team home games and club events such as presentation nights and fundraising events.

    When will the Liquor Licence be for?

    • Friday: 6:00pm – 9:30pm
    • Saturday: 12:00pm - 9:30pm
    • Sunday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm

    All events must conclude by 10:30pm, and the Venue Management Plan will require attendees leave the venue quietly. 

    What are the regular hours for organised sports activities?

    • Monday to Friday: 4pm – 9:30pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 8am – 9:30pm

    What is a venue Management Plan?

    A Venue Management Plan will be developed and implemented to ensure fair, transparent, and consistent operations for all users. It will also include of the requirements around the Renewable Limited Liquor Licence and attached to the club’s lease.
