Council currently invests $51,000 on the Australia Day citizenship ceremony and civic reception event for venue costs, staffing, entertainment and catering.
(We typically spend $32,000 on citizenship ceremonies every second month).

Running additional activities is estimated to cost:

  • Community picnic (approx $175,000)
  • Major community festival (approx $500,000)
  • First Nations Mourning Ceremony (approx cost $55,000)
