Consultation has concluded

Council is seeking community input to help shape our 2022/2023 Budget.

Putting together our annual budget is a complex task, and we are keen to hear community views to make sure we are getting the balance right.

Following community consultation earlier this year, Council has prepared:

  • 2022/23 Draft Budget
  • Draft Financial Plan
  • Draft Rate and Revenue Plan.
(View the draft documents in the Document Library on this page)

Your rates help pay for over 100 different services. The old saying about Councils only delivering 'Roads, Rates and Rubbish' couldn't be further from the truth.

When putting together Council’s annual Budget we have to consider a range of factors including:

Funding our key community services including:

  • delivered meals and home care for our elderly residents
  • immunisation services, maternal and child health services, youth services
  • Libraries, arts programs and much more

Maintaining existing vital community assets including:

  • roads, footpaths and drains
  • our many community facilities including kindergartens, senior citizens centres etc

Delivering any new facilities our community needs including: sporting pavilions, life saving clubs, new playgrounds et

We want to hear your ideas for projects and/or services that should be included in the 2022/2023 Budget.

How will community feedback help shape the budget:
Your ideas will be considered as part of our Budget process as we put together the 2022/23 Budget.

  • Stage 1 - Community input welcomed to help shape the budget. (Feb/March 2022 Completed)
  • Stage 2 - Draft Budget, Draft Rate & Revenue Plan, and Draft Financial Plan available for community review & comment. (Following May Council meeting to 10 June).
  • An online community information session will be held 6.30pm-8pm Tuesday 31 May to provide further detail on the draft budget.
No registration is required, simply join the session on the night.
