Dixon Street car park ramp, Mentone

We are committed to making our foreshore more inclusive and accessible for everyone.

We’re planning to deliver a new accessible pedestrian ramp from the Dixon Street car park down to the beach. This ramp is designed to improve access for people using mobility aids, families using prams, and beachgoers carrying heavy items.

The proposed concept design has been developed to:

• minimise the impact on existing vegetation and the natural foreshore environment

• include new accessible parking bays near the ramp entrance

• remove non-compliant pathways currently in place.

Construction timing is yet to be confirmed but works will take place outside the busy summer season to reduce disruption to the community and local visitors.
