Last year, we wrote to residents about our proposal to replace the sports lighting at Dolamore Reserve Athletics Track in Mentone to a modern energy efficient LED system. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback - we've listened carefully and updated the proposal in response to the concerns raised.

Following community feedback last year, the proposal includes:

  • Four new 30m light towers with eight luminaires each
  • Automatic timer - dusk to 9pm only
  • Energy-efficient LED fittings
  • Light spill management and lower lux levels to protect residential amenity.

The proposed lighting will support community use of the reserve during winter - for walking, running, athletics training and general recreation use for all ages and abilities.

Consultation closes on Friday 24 July 2026.

Subject to a successful State Government funding application, works are anticipated to commence in November 2026.
