Consultation has concluded

Our city is growing and a key issue facing a growing population is parking.

To address this, we have conducted a thorough review of parking in the municipality, taking into account community feedback and best practice to develop a draft Parking Management Policy and we would love to hear what you think.

We know that many Kingston residents are frustrated and feel that parking levels in their neighbourhoods have increased due to a lack of adequate on-site car parking required in new housing developments.

The number of car parks required in housing developments are governed by Victorian Planning laws and unfortunately, Council has little influence over this. So, Council is focussing on what we can control.

The purpose of this Policy is to provide a framework for Kingston to manage parking across the municipality for the benefit of the whole community, for all road users and in a consistent, equitable and transparent way. The Policy sets out the main principles the Council uses to manage parking restrictions, parking permits, and other parking issues.
