Construction is starting at Elder Street South Reserve

We’re excited to start construction works on this new park for Clarinda residents in April 2023.

Elder Street South Reserve will feature play areas, a fitness station, recreational facilities, walking/cycling tracks, beautiful landscaped gardens, and more! The inviting open space will provide for a wide range of outdoor activities for the local community.

We know the community has been looking forward to the delivery of this new park and thank everyone who has given feedback along the way. Completion of this reserve will see the former landfill site become yet another link in Kingston’s long-awaited ‘Chain of Parks.’

Features of the new park will include:
• activity zone with outdoor exercise equipment
• multi-functional sports court
• ‘adventure woodland’ nature play area
• native grassland and grassy woodlands
• shared path network for pedestrians and cyclists
• open lawn areas
• picnic areas, seating and shelter
• toilet and water facilities
• parking.

Construction timing and impacts

Works are planned to commence in late April and be completed by late September, weather permitting.

During works parts of the reserve will be fenced off for the safety of the community. We apologise for any inconvenience and will minimise disruption wherever possible, while maintaining a safe work site.
