Consultation has concluded
Kingston City Council is undertaking community consultation for the unnamed pavilion located at Jack Grut reserve in Mordialloc.
Council is proposing to name the pavilion ‘Keith Carpenter’, the proposed name is in recognition of a significant contributor to the community.
Historical Background The naming is proposed to recognise Keith Carpenter, a major contributor to the local sport community within the Parkdale area and to recognise Keith’s achievements and dedication to the Parkdale United Cricket Club and community for over 50 years.
He was awarded the ‘Paul Harris Fellowship’ from the Mordialloc Rotary in 1980 for his contribution to the club, along with a legacy at the club as a player, captain, club champion, club president, treasurer, general committee member and volunteer.
The naming process To proceed with the naming proposal Council must complete a 30-day community consultation period as outlined by the Rules for Naming Places Victoria. The rules can be viewed here
Where is it located: The pavilion is located at the Jack Grut Reserve on Governor Road in Mordialloc.

At the November Council Meeting Council approved the recommendation to apply to the Office of Geographic Names to name the pavilion the Keith Carpenter Pavilion.
