We're seeking your feedback on the date of Kingston's January citizenship ceremonies following changes to the Australian Citizenship Ceremonies Code.
In December 2022, the Australian Government announced an update to the Australian Citizenship Ceremonies Code, allowing councils to hold their January Citizenship Ceremony between January 23 and 29. Prior to this update, councils were required to hold a citizenship ceremony on 26 January each year.
What is a citizenship ceremony?
A citizenship ceremony is where you make the pledge of commitment. For most people, this is the final step in the journey to becoming an Australian. After your citizenship application is approved, you will receive an invitation to attend a ceremony.
