Why are the works needed?

The existing playground and picnic equipment are quite old. Council’s adopted master plan for the park recommends upgrading the playground and park to create a range of formal and informal spaces for community use.The new playground will provide many features including a good range of physical, creative and imaginative play settings for children of all ages and their families in the wider Clayton area.

    When will construction begin?

Following the consultation period, the design will reviewed as required to reflect community feedback. Following this process, it is anticipated that construction of the playground would start in autumn 2017. The works will take approximately 12-16 weeks to be completed (weather permitting).

Will there be any disruption to the use of park and playground facilities?

The existing playground and some areas of the park will be closed to the public during construction. But there are a number of other parks in the vicinity to visit while we're building you a better and more enjoyable Keeley Park, including Namatjira Park and Bald Hill Park.
