Update on the Kingston Heath Multi-Purpose Court Renewal, Cheltenham

In February 2025, we consulted with the local community on our draft design for the Kingston Heath Multi-Purpose Court renewal in Cheltenham. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback!

We heard that you wanted a bright surface that is nice to play on, retention of native trees and the inclusion of a drinking fountain and seating.

The final design includes:

  • Basketball
  • Rebound wall activities
  • Pickleball with retractable nets
  • Netball
  • A colourful surface, with line marking for hopscotch
  • New native trees
  • Additional seating, bin and a drinking fountain

We also heard that you would like the existing tennis court to be included in the renewal. We are exploring the feasibility of these works subject to budget.

Construction

The renewal works will commence in late 2025.

We look forward to delivering this exciting project for the local community!

Background

Through the Talking Kingston budget submission process, we received requests for upgrades of this facility from the community, including basketball hoops, a pickleball court, and other active recreation facilities. This asset renewal is supported by the endorsed Play Your Way (PYW) Strategy, which identifies the importance of active recreation at the reserve and supports the renewal and upgrade of these facilities.
