Kingston Youth Strategy
We're committed to support young people
We’re creating Kingston’s new Youth Strategy, and we want your say.
This is the first of two phases of consultation, and it’s all about listening. We want to hear from young people, families, schools, community groups and anyone who cares about how we support young people in Kingston. Your ideas, experiences and opinions will help shape what comes next.
The Youth Strategy will guide how Kingston Youth Services supports young people into the future. It will set out a clear vision, priority focus areas and goals for programs, services, advocacy and opportunities across the municipality.
It builds on the current strategy but looks ahead to what young people need now and into the future.
Almost 15% of Kingston’s population is aged 12–25, and that number is growing. Young people are a huge part of our community, and we know that supporting wellbeing means more than just the basics.
Council plays a role in connecting people to social, educational, cultural, health and leisure opportunities that help young people feel supported, included and confident about their future.
This strategy will be shaped through co-design, with young people’s voices at the centre, alongside input from parents, carers, educators and service providers.
Together, we’ll identify what’s working, what’s missing and how Council can best support, empower and advocate for young people across Kingston.
