Update on Council's first Electric Vehicle Charging Policy and Placement Plan (August 2024)

We’d like to thank everyone who provided feedback during our community consultation on Council's first Electric Vehicle Charging Policy and Placement Plan.

At the 22 July 2024 Council Meeting, Kingston’s Councillors endorsed the Draft Electric Vehicle Charging Policy and Placement Plan. You can view the Council Meeting Minutes here(External link).

We are now evaluating the submissions from charge point operators and finalising selection of a contractor(s) for installation and operation. The next stage will involve site assessments and detailed design on preferred locations for the placement of electric vehicle charging stations. We hope to have an update for you on the selected locations and our confirmed provider before the end of the year.
