Consultation has concluded
Local Laws help protect public health, safety and amenity throughout Kingston.
They are created in consultation with the community, to deal with local issues and to meet local needs.
Kingston Council is proposing to make a number of changes to Local Law No 4 and is seeking community feedback on the draft plan.
The proposed amendments include:
- Smoking would be banned on local beaches, in strip shopping precincts and in our parks
- Shopping Trolleys will now be collected by the shopping complex manager within 24 hours of a notification of an abandoned or misplaced trolley
- Council will have greater flexibility to grant a permit for residents to keep poultry at their home
- Changes to the ways property owners can respond to trees from neighbouring properties
- The Temporary Discharge Permit Clause includes a title change to Construction and Works
- Council will have changed delegation authority. For example, Council may resolve to determine permit applications for the removal of 10 of more trees.
