Bald Hill Park Clarinda - Disc Golf Facilities

Bald Hill Park – Community Consultation on proposed Disc Golf facilities

Kingston Council is continually investing in our local parks to ensure they continue to provide a broad mix of passive and recreation opportunities for our community.

Council has identified an opportunity to install disc golf equipment for community use at Bald Hill Park in Clarinda and we invite you to ‘have your say’ about the proposal.

What is disc golf?
It is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities and requires very little equipment, making it accessible to all. Players throw a Frisbee and aim to reach a target (usually a basket on a pole) within the least number of throws.

For further information on disc golf see https://www.melbournediscgolf.com/about/what-is-disc-golf/

What is proposed at Bald Hill Park?
Council is investigating installing permanent disc golf targets at Bald Hill Park. It would not require the removal of any vegetation, with the baskets located among the existing park trees and terrain. A similar disc golf course is located at Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster.

Community members could use the equipment with their own Frisbees, or could hire equipment which could be made available via the local library branch etc.

Community Information session

Council is hosting a ‘Come and Try’ event 4pm-6pm Friday 26 October at Bald Hill Park, Clarinda to allow the local community to see first-hand what is proposed and to have their say on the plans. Council officers and disc golf representatives will be on-hand to answer questions about the sport.
