Why is a park plan needed?

The draft park plan sets out a vision for this much-loved community park to provide for better amenity, improved access and renewed facilities, such as playgrounds. The park plan aims to provide a blueprint for future works, subject to funding.

How does the draft plan relate to the new pavilion project?

The draft park plan provides for seamless integration between the new pavilion, carpark, oval and training ground, with the rest of the public open space areas to ensure the park flows as one space. Construction of the new pavilion – which will serve as a community football hub and home base for the St Kilda Football Club – has been funded by the Victorian Government, AFL, St Kilda Football Club, Council and community football leagues.

Does the plan retain the existing dog off-lead area?

Yes - the draft plan retains the existing dog off-lead area.

    When will construction begin?

Council has committed $1 million in the 2017/18 financial year to commence priority works within public open space in Kingston.
