Background information
Council has created a new pocket park for the community in Horscroft Place, Moorabbin, with support from the Victorian Government through the Local Parks Program.
This newly constructed pocket park provides greater pedestrian and cycle connection between Moorabbin station and shops through to Moorabbin Reserve ((home of St Kilda Football Club and AFLW football games) and beyond to the hospital and TAFE.
The pocket park not only improves and expands on the existing throughfare, but also creates a new community park for existing and future residents to enjoy – including picnic table, seating options, large open grass space and landscaped garden beds.
Have your say - your park, your art!
The final concept plan for the pocket park and artwork along the brick walls at the site was developed in 2021 in consultation with the community and we thank all who provided feedback. The plan and images are available to view in the Document Library to the right.
Park construction is now underway and is expected to be completed by the end of January 2022.
Council is now engaging an artist to create a beautiful environmental theme mural for the brick walls along the northern side of the site.
If you have any ideas, colour or concept preferences to inspire the artist, we'd appreciate your feedback.
