We are committed to building an accessible, liveable, and sustainable city that is truly a unique destination where everyone belongs. Public toilets play an essential role in realising this vision.
In the Kingston Public Toilet Consultation findings review, over 580 community members shared what matters most to them about public toilets. Your feedback helped us shape our draft new Public Toilet Strategy.
Our Vision
Support participation in community life through public toilets that are safe, inviting, and well located, serving as essential infrastructure that promotes health, inclusivity, and dignity for all.
About the Draft Public Toilet Strategy
The new Draft Public Toilet Strategy provides a framework and recommendations for the provision and management of Council-owned public toilets over the next 10 years. It includes:
Policy context shaping our methodology.
Guiding principles and strategic directions for the effective management of public toilets across the municipality.
An overview of the current condition and suitability of existing toilets.
Gap analysis of public toilet network distribution.
Capital and operational recommendations to improve the existing and future toilet network.
Now we want to hear from you!
Have a look at the draft strategy and tell us if you think we’ve got it right. Your input will help shape the future of public toilets in Kingston.
