Kingston's priority projects
We are calling on all political parties to support priority projects for the City of Kingston.
Funding support from State and Federal Government for capital works to be delivered by Council:
- New Aquatic & Leisure Centre - watch video
- Kingston City Hall Redevelopment
- Namatjira Park Masterplan
- Kingston Heath Hockey and Baseball Facility Development
- Le Page Park Masterplan
- Bonbeach Reserve Masterplan
- Chelsea Life Saving Club and Precinct Redevelopment - while in its early stages, we hope to work with the Victorian Government to revitalise Chelsea. This would include work to rejuvenate the Strand, which is ideally situated between Chelsea Station, retail precinct, Victory Park and the Chelsea foreshore.
Influencing capital projects to be delivered by other levels of Government:
- The delivery of the long-awaited Chain of Parks
- Improved outcomes, consultation, and construction management associated with Level Crossing Removal Projects and the Suburban Rail Loop's decision to build stabling yards in Heatherton and a train station at Sir William Fry Reserve in Highett.
- Level crossing removal projects at Mordialloc, Aspendale, and Highett - watch video
- The delivery of the Westall Road Extension from Dandenong Road to the M1 to relieve traffic flows onto South Road (City of Monash).
- The recycled water scheme (Purple Pipe)
- Mordialloc Creek improvements including Aspendale Gardens Wetlands dredging and asset renewal
- Patterson River improvements including Launching Way asset renewal and master plan implementation and the National Water Sports Centre (NWSC) Master plan implementation
Seeking social/other policy change:
- 'Enough is Enough' - minimising gambling harm in our community and reducing the cap of EGMs in Kingston.
