Proposed speed limit reduction - Branagan Drive, Kearney Drive and Nurten Parade, Aspendale Gardens

Background

As part of our Walking and Cycling Plan 2023-2028, we’re working to improve safety for everyone who uses our road network – including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

In line with this, and responding to community concerns, Council is reviewing the speed limit on sections of Branagan Drive, Kearney Drive and Nurten Parade in Aspendale Gardens.

All speed limits in Victoria are governed and approved by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), and community feedback is an important consideration in any speed limit change.

Proposed change

Council is proposing to reduce the speed limit along sections of Branagan Drive, Kearney Drive and Nurten Parade from 50km/h to 40km/h.

The existing 40km/h speed limits and all other speed limits will remain unchanged.
