Termites in Kingston

Consultation has concluded

Council is currently considering whether the City of Kingston should be designated as a termite area.

We are keen to hear from property owners who have experienced a termite attack on a property within Kingston.

Of the 31 Melbourne metropolitan councils, 15 are designated as termite areas. Of Kingston’s neighbouring municipalities, Greater Dandenong and Bayside councils are not designated termite areas. Frankston, Monash and Glen Eira councils are designated termite areas. Council has had relatively few reports of termites in our area.

Any new construction in a termite-designated area would require installation of a termite barrier (costing approximately $1,000) in order to meet Building Code of Australia requirements.

Have your say

In order to assess the level of termites in the area, we are inviting property owners to complete the survey below.

Have your say before consultation closes on Thursday 28 September.
