As part of Council’s ongoing investment in parks and open spaces, funding has been allocated for safety improvements at Victory Park and we’d like to know what you think.
Shade sails Victory Park currently has very little shade. The existing trees don’t provide shade to the main playground and the toddlers’ sand area.
In response to community feedback regarding the lack of shade at this popular park, Council is proposing to install two shade sails over the main playground and two umbrellas over the toddlers’ sand area, to help improve sun safety and make the park more enjoyable for the community. Please see images below for proposed shade sail/umbrella positioning. More information can be found in the document library.
Fencing improvements The existing low mesh fence separating the road, carpark and playground has a number of openings directly onto the road and carpark. To improve safety, Council is proposing to install gates and remove two of the openings. Please see diagram below for more information.
Have your say Council is keen to get your feedback on the proposed safety improvements for Victory Park.
