Council has undertaken an audit of the planning controls across our city and identified errors, which need to be corrected. Examples of errors we're trying to rectify include:

  • Where two or more planning zones apply to the same site
  • Where Council owned land used for public open space is incorrectly zoned residential
  • Where a Heritage Overlay is incorrectly applied to an element or buildings
  • Where a Heritage Overlay applies to a building which has been demolished and no longer exists.

Please note:
We have recently been made aware of an error in the map on page 17 of the document titled ‘Kingston C206king Maps_combined’. This map incorrectly shows part of 1A Foster Street, Aspendale being rezoned to a Public Use Zone. Please be assured that this is not the case.

1A Foster Street, Aspendale currently has two zones which apply to it, being the General Residential Zone (GRZ2) and Commercial 1 Zone (C1Z). The Commercial 1 Zone only applies to a small section of the site along the eastern boundary. Council is currently seeking to rezone the commercial part of the site so that the entire land is zoned residential.
