Council is proposing to sell a portion of the site at 40 Redwood Drive Dingley Village to a neighbouring business.
The remainder of the site would be retained as open space for workers and visitors to enjoy. A range of improvements are planned for the remaining space.
Why is Council considering selling the land? The owner of a neighbouring property has approached Council seeking to buy a section of the site. As the section of the site is currently largely vacant and unused, Council was open to considering the proposal. But we are consulting the local community for their views before any final decision is made.
What will happen to the trees on the site? There are currently 22 trees on the site. The 12 River Red Gums on the site will be retained. It is proposed that 8 Prickly-leaved Paperbarks and 2 Spotted Gums would be removed. (See landscape plan in the Documents section of this project page)
What improvements are planned for the park? A further 29 trees will be planted at the site and a new picnic table, pathway and garden beds added. The upgrades aim to make the space a more enjoyable area for local workers and visitors to enjoy a break/lunch time during their working day.
Further information is also available in the August 2020 Council report in the Document section of this project page.
Have your say: Feedback is open until COB Monday 31 May. You can share your views on the proposed plans via our online survey below, or by emailing info@kingston.vic.gov.au
