Consultation has concluded
Kingston City Council is undertaking community consultation for the unnamed pavilion located at Rowan Road Reserve in Dingley Village.
Naming the new pavilion:
Naming of public buildings follows an official process set by the Victorian Government’s Office of Geographic Names. Council is keen for the community to have its say on the pavilion’s new name.
We have received a community suggestion to name the pavilion ‘Lynne Fleming Pavilion’.
Lynne Fleming was a past President, Committee member, volunteer and Life Member of the Springvale and District Netball Association. Lynne Fleming and her committee were instrumental in advocating to the Springvale Council to purchase the land in Rowan Road and allocate it to build the netball courts. Lynne Fleming’s contribution to the Springvale and District Netball Association and local netball spanned over 50 years.
The site is used by local netball clubs of the Springvale and District Netball Association (SDNA), including: Dingley Netball Club, Aspendale Arrows Netball Club, Edithvale Netball Club, Maroons Netball Club, MCC Panthers Netball Club, Mentone Clovers Netball Club, Mordialloc Redbacks Junior Sporting Club, Noble Park Netball Club and the Southern Football Netball League.
Have Your Say: Share your thoughts on the proposal of the ‘Lynne Fleming Pavilion’ and/or provide other suggested names.
Under the Rules for Naming Places Victoria, Council must complete a 30-day community consultation period. The rules can be viewed at https://www.land.vic.gov.au/ under the section on Place Naming.
