Council has been contacted by the community members of Waterways about the lack of public toilet facilities for visitors to the area and patrons of the Nest Cafe, located at Kiosk 1, Waterside Drive, Waterways.

In response to this, we plan to install a 5.4m x 4.3m public toilet block, which includes one all-abilities and two all-gender toilets. Before we do this we want to hear which is the preferred location for its placement and preferred hours of operation.

Once we've heard from all of you, we'll begin to plan for the installation, which we anticipate will happen in autumn 2024.

Location
We want to hear which of the following two sites would be the preferred option for the placement of this new toilet facility (please see image below).

  • Location One: Facing the pedestrian path in the Waterways Reserve on Waterside Drive, or
  • Location Two: Next to the toilets at Nest Cafe.

Hours of operation

We would also like to know whether you'd like these public facilities to remain open during daylight hours, or if you have any other suggestions for accessing them.

Design

The final façade of the toilets is yet to be determined. Below is an example only. You can view the proposed design here.
