The new Aspendale Life Saving Club facility is currently under construction with works expected to finish mid-November 2022

The new building incorporates public toilets with outdoor showers for the public and includes sustainability features such as rainwater tank, low consumption LED lighting, glazing to achieve maximum sunlight (reducing the need to have lights on), and water efficient fittings.

Temporary fencing and signage has been installed during works for the safety of the community.

Beach access will not be available via Groves Street during the redevelopment works. Pedestrians are encouraged to detour via Foster Lane and Foster Street for beach access.

Increased traffic on Groves Street is expected during key stages of the works. Traffic management will be onsite to safely direct traffic during these periods.

We apologise for any inconvenience during the works and will minimise disruption wherever possible, while maintaining a safe work site.

Construction works will not impact beach patrols and the Aspendale Life Saving Club will be patrolling the beach as usual. Storage of the club’s equipment will be temporarily accommodated at the Gnotuk Avenue car park.

A new Aspendale Life Saving Club facility is set to be built thanks to a partnership between Kingston Council ($2.5million) and the Victorian Government ($2million).

A new state-of-the-art facility will be built to ensure the club can continue to provide this vital community service to the tens of thousands of visitors who visit Aspendale beach each summer.

The club has served the community for more than 90 years and replacing the current aged building will ensure the club’s future for decades to come.

Council have worked closely with the Aspendale Life Saving Club on the redevelopment with re-development plans developed to align with the Life Saving Facility of the Future Development Guidelines.
