Background
Council is continuing its investment in providing public open spaces and sporting fields, creating new sporting facilities at Aspendale Gardens Sports Ground.
The project has been split into two stages with Stage 1 including car park and sports field works. Consultation for stage 1 has concluded with construction works well underway, with the aim of commencing games at the site from April 2020. You can view the project pages for earlier consultation in Related Projects box on the right-hand side.
Stage 2 includes the construction of a new pavilion and landscaping improvements. Consultation for Stage 2 is now underway.
Stage 2 Consultation
Council has been working closely with key stakeholders including the Aspendale Gardens Residents Association (AGRA), sporting clubs and the Project Steering Group to develop a set of design and usage principles to help inform a design brief for the new pavilion and landscape improvements.
Now, we’d like to know what you think about the design and usage principles.
The design and usage principles have been grouped under the following five key themes:
The building’s look and feel
Pavilion use
Public toilets
Graffiti/anti-social activity
Broader site opportunities
Actions have also been listed, to highlight what these principles could translate to from a design perspective. Please visit the Document Library to the right to download a copy of the design and usage principles. You can also access a full copy of the Stakeholder Workshop Report.
We're holding a community drop-in information session 10am-11.30am on Saturday 14 March at the Aspendale Gardens Community Centre to answer any questions you have about the draft principles, to help inform your submission.
Have your say
