Have your say on the Le Page Park Master Plan
An update on the Le Page Park Master Plan
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving Kingston’s open spaces, Council developed a Master Plan for Le Page Park in 2022, informed by extensive community consultation. Your feedback has played a vital role in shaping the vision for the park.
In October 2025 we shared a refined layout of the Master Plan that worked with the park’s existing features, including trees, underground services and surrounding infrastructure.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the updated design, we heard your feedback and have adjusted the design to support your needs. The Le Page Park Masterplan was endorsed by Council at the November Council Meeting in 2025.
The final design includes:
- Tennis court and pavilion
The 6 new tennis courts will be located in a row, with the new pavilion at the eastern end and a new carpark adjacent to Herald Street. Pickleball line markings have been removed from the tennis courts as this is not supported by the club. We are continuing to work with the club on the pavilion design. - Relocated driveway to the south-west boundary, a kiss and go zone will be set up in the 5 parking bays closest to the school. The car park will have a single entry and exit, and reduced spaces due to site and traffic limitations.
- Upgraded pedestrian paths to create all-abilities accessible connections across the park.
- Replacement of the existing public toilets with a modern facility in the same location.
- New repositioned cricket nets aligned north–south to meet Cricket Victoria standards (four bays, increased run-up and fully enclosed).
- Two new netball courts including player shelters, floodlighting and safety fencing (two courts, multi-lined).
- A new Active Recreation Zone west of the playground, with equipment for scooters, bikes, climbing, fitness equipment, hit-up wall for informal ball sports, multi-use half-court for netball, basketball and futsal. Note: consideration of an additional hit-up wall if feasible, within the tennis club area.
- Upgrades to Oval 1 and 2 including LED sports lighting upgrades, surface improvements and behind the goal netting on both ovals. Netting proposed at tennis court end of Oval 1 and car park end of Oval 2. Note: dog off leash retained on Oval 2.
- Herald Street carpark will now be located to the north-east of the park and feature an entry off Herald Street. The current entry road will be closed and returned to open space.
- Playground remaining, no changes.
- New amenities including BBQs, seating, shade structures, bike parking and more.
- Landscaping to include the removal of select trees in order to deliver the works, trees will be replaced 3:1 at Le Page Park and nearby reserves.
