We're seeking community feedback on what you value in Mordialloc to help inform our advocacy work to the Victorian Government. We'll be speaking up on behalf of our community to ensure the best outcomes are delivered as part of the Mordialloc level crossing removals.


Background

The Victorian Government announced that it plans to make the Frankston rail line level-crossing free by 2029. The Victorian Government announced by 2026:

  • Level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale, will be removed using a rail over road design
  • The crossing at Bear Street in Mordialloc will be closed.

What is Council's role?

Council is not responsible for planning this project or its delivery, however we are speaking up on behalf of our community to make sure we get the best outcomes for Kingston.

We are conducting this consultation to help inform our advocacy to the Victorian Government. We need your input to help make sure this significant project is delivered with the best results for the community.

By taking part in our online survey you are helping Council understand what the community values about Mordialloc.

Community feedback will be reported back to the Level Crossing Removal Project who are responsible for undertaking the works. We will also use your feedback to help inform our draft Urban Design Framework for the Victorian Government.

You'll have the chance to have your say on our draft Urban Design Framework before it's finalised, to make sure we get it right!

  • Speak to us face-to-face at our pop-up engagement event on Wednesday 5 July, from 10:30am – 12:30pm (look out for the Kington banners on Main Street!)
  • Making a further submission via email to info@kingston.vic.gov.au or mailing PO Box 1000 Mentone.

The consultation is open until Friday 14 July.
