We are committed to creating welcoming, accessible spaces that reflect the needs of our community.

Following community feedback, Parkers Road Kiosk public toilet (near Beach Road in Parkdale), has been scheduled for an upgrade. This project, which aligns with the upcoming Public Toilet Strategy, will deliver a safer, more inclusive and family-friendly facility for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The new design will deliver:

  • An outdoor foot-wash station
  • A fully compliant unisex accessible toilet
  • Two unisex ambulant toilets to support users with mobility needs
  • Gender-specific toilets designed to meet the needs of all gender groups
  • An improved layout to enhance visibility, safety, and functionality.

The upgrade will include the removal of the existing shower due to ongoing drainage issues. However, alternative locations are being considered at beach entry points as part of the Foreshore Framework consultation.

Construction works are estimated to be delivered mid-late 2026 and will form part of Council’s ongoing Public Toilet Renewal Program. During construction, Council will work to minimise disruption, maintain safe access, and ensure the community continues to enjoy the foreshore.
