Earlier this year the community gave us tremendous feedback on the concept plan for the redevelopment of the playspace at Mordialloc's much-loved Peter Scullin Reserve.

With planning and approvals now completed, we are ready to move forward with the redevelopment of the playspace here at Peter Scullin Reserve.

The playspace has been designed to offer an inclusive experience for all, providing a play environment for a diverse range of children, youth and adults of all ages, sizes and abilities.

Among the key elements included are:

  • All Ability - accessible equipment
  • Climbing with ropes
  • Multi-level play areas
  • Interactive play
  • Tunnel
  • Sensory play, including musical instruments
  • Swings
  • Slides
  • Water play

Council is being supported in this $1.8 million project by a $300,000 grant from the State Government under the Community Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

Construction timing and impacts

Construction will commence in late March.

Access to parts of Peter Scullin Reserve and eight parking bays will be restricted throughout the works, with temporary fencing installed for the safety of the community (please see site plan overleaf for details).

Directional signage will ensure the community can safely access the nearby traders when visiting the reserve, and tree protection measures will also be in place to protect the surrounding trees and vegetation.

We apologise for any inconvenience and will minimise disruption wherever possible while maintaining a safe work site.
