Help us shape Bald Hill Park
Consultation has concluded
An update on our plans to improve Bald Hill Park
In 2025, you shared your thoughts on the concept plan for the proposed improvements at Bald Hill Park. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
Your input has helped shape the final improvement plan, which is now available for viewing and includes:
- Enhanced landscaping and biodiversity through planting
- Improved connectivity within the site and pedestrian priority crossings
- Picnic shelters, seating and platform benches
- Nature immersive educational spaces
- Improved wayfinding and signage
Please also note the following adjustments to the draft design based on community feedback:
- Retention of the existing Disc Golf course layout to preserve valuable open space
- Maintaining the existing dog off-leash area for dogs to exercise and socialise
- Omission of the proposed table tennis table due to the provision at nearby Namatjira Park
A timeframe for delivering the improvements is yet to be confirmed, and their implementation is subject to securing the necessary funding. We will keep our community updated as this project progresses.

2024 consultation
We are developing a masterplan for Bald Hill Park in Clarinda, a rehabilitated landfill site. The plan will consider an overall vision for the park, along with enhanced functionality and aesthetics which will be delivered over the next few years.

Site limitations
As part of environmental requirements, the old landfill site was capped. This cap varies in depth throughout the site. Because of this, there are limitations on what can be installed on site and where facilities can be located. There are also restrictions on where tree planting can take place, but it may be possible to mound soil for new trees. Council is, however, keen to increase tree planting and biodiversity values within the site, so every effort will be made to increase planting and tree canopy cover across the site, in appropriate places.
