We're proposing to install lighting between Silverbanks Grove and Levanto Street in Mentone to improve safety and visibility along the key pedestrian link - and we'd like to hear your thoughts!
Following recent requests for lighting between Silverbanks Grove and Levanto Street, we're proposing to install three solar-powered lights along the popular pedestrian link to improve safety and visibility in this area. We're now seeking your feedback on the proposal. This is part of our ongoing commitment to improving our open spaces in Kingston.
Project details
The solar light bollards will be powered by a 6.92m RESS (Rechargeable Energy Storage System) strategically located near the paved Levanto Street entrance of the pedestrian link to capture maximum sunlight. The three solar bollards will run along the boundary fence on the grass towards Silverbanks Grove (please refer to map overleaf).
As the pedestrian link is surrounded by residential housing - and in line with public lighting guidelines - the light will be directed to shine onto the ground without disturbing nearby homes.
