The planned all accessible outdoor gym at GR Bricker Reserve in Moorabbin will be a ‘game changer’ for local residents seeking to get fit.

Wider works are currently underway to upgrade the reserve, following community consultation on the site’s Masterplan in 2019. A new car park, path network, cricket nets, scoreboard and fence have already been installed and a new sports pavilion is currently under construction.

We heard from residents they’d like to see the outdoor gym equipment upgraded for all abilities and that access should be improved for wheelchair-bound users. These are key features of the concept plan.

The proposed equipment includes:

  • monkey bars
  • parallel bars
  • dual dip bars
  • chin-up bars
  • shoulder disc
  • balance board
  • tai-chi wheels
  • steps
  • punchball

The exercise equipment will be installed on a rubber softfall surface and will be accessible via a new wheelchair-friendly path from the existing path network.
